53rd Annual Grammy AwardsTo be perfoming at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards are The BBC favorite Justin Bieber (yeah right), Bruno Mars, B.o.B., and all five Album Of The Year nominees Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Eminen, Katy Perry and Arcade Fire. I’m pulling for the dark horse Arcade Fire on this one. More performances are Usher with Jaden Smith, Janelle Monae, Maranda Lambert, Muse, And Cee Lo Green

My favorite nomination this year goes to Neil Young for the Best Rock Album. Titled “Le Noise” and produced by Daniel Lanois, it has Neil playing 6 electric songs, and 2 acoustic songs, with vocals and effects. He uses a Daniel Lanois created effect that enhances the bass notes of an acoustic guitar. It was something Lanois showed Young and this is the result. Quite stunning, and I hope Grammy voters are intrigued as well. I would like to see anyone else try this — no band.

Competing against Neil are Mojo – Tom Petty, Backspacer – Pearl Jam, Emotion & Commotion – Jeff Beck, and  The Resistance – Muse. The younger crowd is gaga for Muse but they don’t send me. For Best Rock Song Neil Young’s “Angry World” goes up against “Little Lion Man” – Mumford And Sons, “Radioactive” – Kings Of Leon, “The Resistance” – Muse, and “Tighten Up” – The Black Keys.

Record Of The Year nominees are “Nothing On You” – B.o.B. with Bruno Mars, “Love The Way You Lie” – Eminen featuring Rihanna, Cee Lo Green-”F#%& You”, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys – “Empire State Of Mind”, and “Need You Now” – Lady Antebellum. I have a feeling Lady Antebellum will win multiple Grammys. Hillary is single and not looking. How do you do that? Go blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other. Superbowl bound Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, has stated he is NOT dating Hillary. Take that for what it’s worth.

Best Alternative Album Of The Year nominees are The Suburbs – Arcade Fire, Infinite Arms – Band Of Horses, Contra – Vampire Weekend, Broken Bells – Broken Bells, and Brothers – Black Keys. Best Country Album nominees are Up On The Ridge – Dierks Bentley, You Get What You Give – Zac Brown Band, The Guitar Song – Jamey Johnson, Need You Now – Lady Antebellum, and Revolution – Miranda Lambert.
