Arcade Fire’s ’The Suburbs’ was a huge surprise as Album of the Year. I have to admit I thought this was a dark horse. Kudos to the Grammy voters on this one.
Lady Antebellum wins for Song of The Year, Record of the Year and Country Album of the Year. As predicted, Lady Antebellum received multiple Grammys tonight. I find it slightly skewed toward multiple awards over quality as they go gaga over Lady Antebellum and not Lady GaGa. Not very surprising, in fact quite how it goes where more gets more awards.
Train wins Best Pop performance by Duo or Group with Vocals for “Hey Soul Sister”. A good song, but nothing spectacular.
Pop Album of the Year goes to Lady GaGa — although strong media coverage, not a strong showing in Grammys. In fact, very little love for the pop superstar was seen tonight.
Neil Young loses to Muse for Rock Album, but wins on Rock Song with “Angry World”. My fear Of Neil losing to Muse on Rock Album comes to fruition. I have not been keen on Muse and don’t share the love. I have no idea what they saw on this one.
Best R&B Vocal Duo or Group went to Sade for ‘Solier Of Love’. Excellent choice on this one. I like this one alot.
