Rebecca Black just doesn’t get the criticism and recent death threats in response to her song “Friday.” The Anaheim, California Police Department recently opened up an investigation into multiple death threats launched against the 13-year-old singer. In an interview with Extra’s Mario Lopez, Black said that she just doesn’t understand what she did that was so wrong.
I think that’s kind of weird. It’s a song. It’s not like I ran for president and then I said something really bad. What did I do? I sang a song about a day.
– Rebecca Black
While the police are investigating death threats and the harsh criticism of the singer continues from rabid YouTube viewers, the singer has also received support as well from singers Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas, and even from former American Idol host Simon Cowell.
I love her…the fact that she’s gotten so much publicity. People are so upset about the song, but I think it’s hysterical. I want to meet her. Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet. I love people like that.
– Simon Cowell
Rebecca Black apparently isn’t cowering at home in fear. Black hit the town last night, making her red carpet debut at the Hollywood premier of Disney’s new movie ‘Prom’. Stepping out in a flowing white dress and smiling boldly for the sea of cameras, Rebecca Black seems to be enjoying her new found fame. You Go Girl!
