Long time rockers Uriah Heep from England prove Rock is not dead right from the start of their new release Into the Wild. The first song “Nail on the Head” gets things going great. This is one of the best tracks on the album. This is a wonderful cruising song. “I Can See You” is a fast paced rocker with nice organ sound found throughout. The title track comes next with organ intro and more straight forward Rock. A solid Rock song with really good backing vocals — Uriah Heep style. “Money Talk” has a nice organ/guitar combination and really great lead guitar. There is some really strong organ playing on this one at the end.
“I’m Ready” sounds indeed like they are ready to Rock, Rock, Rock. This song has an infectious organ and great lead guitar. “Trail of Diamonds” starts out mellow and then explodes in a few minutes, standing out as a very solid effort. I like the ambient ding in this one. “Southern Star” is a fast paced song with some rockin’ guitars. there is some stellar lead guitar here. “Believe” is a good basic Rock song with swirling organ reminiscent of Rainbow. “Lost” has an excellent Police siren lead guitar. More solid Rock here with an organ solo at the end.
“T Bird Angel” has more great background vocals and great lead guitar solo. “Kiss of Freedom” is a slower Rock tune. It’s simply wonderful Rock, and one of my favorites with some stellar guitar lead and rhythm. This one also has amazing organ up front .”Hard Way to Learn” starts out with lead guitar that really rocks and is a really nice ending to a fine effort. The lead guitar is stellar on this one. My favorite of all the tracks.
A solid four star effort and an example of the great music releases that have come out this year.
