The shooting of Pitt’s latest movie, Cogan’s Trade, has just been completed in New Orleans. The film marks the second reunion between Pitt and director Andrew Dominik. They first worked together on The Assassination of Jesse James (2007).
The film is set for a March 2012 release with the domestic rights of the project being held by The Weinstein Company. International sales will be handled through Inferno Distribution, with CAA assisting with packaging the project.
The film’s main character is Jackie Cogan, (played by Pitt) a professional enforcer hired to investigate the robbery of a mob protected poker game. The cast includes Richard Jenkins, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Sam Shepard, Scoot Mcnairy and Ray Liotta.
It was a George V Higgins novel that inspired the film and upon which it is based. Dede Gardner and Brad Pitt himself produced the picture through Plan B Entertainment, in partnership with Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz of Chokstone Pictures.
Executive producers are Marc Batan, Megan Ellison, Anthony Katagas, Bill Johnson, Jim Siebel, Spencer Silna and Adi Shankar.
